Wanderers, Travel Fams? One day we will land on a community name but today we are coming at you from a laundromat in Naches, WA. After a few long hikes and an accidental dunk in a stream for our youngest, we needed a quick reset of laundry.
As far as family trips go, this one has seen a lot already and we are one week into it. If you are just learning about our family and our travels, we are true midwesterners, which means we drive everywhere. Sometimes leading to things happening on the road. As we were driving through some rolling hills of North Dakota, we noticed that our trusty Jeep started to overheat going up and then cooling down as we crested the hills. Not ones to freak out…we took our time going up the hill (don’t pass 3,000 rpms or we’ll blow up) as we located the nearest open shop.
We ended up calling a Meineke about an hour drive from Wall Drug. Huge thanks to the mechanic that got us back on the road in a few short hours and so far we have been able to climb a few steep hills, including up to Mt. Rainier.
We wanted to take a minute to thank everyone for the support as we launched this new adventure. Sorry we only have a few family trip plans completed but we just couldn’t wait any longer to get this going or we would have never done it. We are working on a few new plans to launch in the next few weeks, including our trip through Glacier National Park, the Grand Tetons, Yellowstone and the Badlands. Some of these places we are revisiting on this trip since the Beartooth Highway wasn’t open the first time out here.
Our families have always supported our adventures in various ways but the outpouring of support from everyone has truly blown us away. It’s been amazing every time we get cell service on this trip because we get your DM’s and website notifications. Thank you to everyone who has shared our posts on social media and helped our community reach 100 followers in just a few days. We would love to see this community of family travelers grow to 1,000? 10,000? Who knows! We have some amazing ideas we would love to do with this community as it grows, so keep following along!
